Adult Education and G.E.D. Preparation
Adult Education
Adult Education classes (started as a separate class in the fall of 1997) are offered to provide people (minimum 16 years old and terminated from school) the opportunity to improve their educational functioning levels in reading, math, writing and other core subject areas. Those interested in classes take an appropriate assessment, so that study materials can be tailored to meet their individual needs. Everyone in the classes can receive one-on-one assistance from our Adult Education Staff, Doris Patten (AEL/GED Education Coordinator) and Barb Anderson (AEL/GED Instructor) or trained tutors. There is no cost for these services, just the time that you devote to classes.

G.E.D. Preparation Assistance
The Career Planning Center Educational Coordinator provides G.E.D. assistance for clients who do not have a high school diploma. The Center provides a variety of pre-tests to help clients to be better prepared and feel more confident prior to taking the G.E.D. exam. Close to 100% of the Center clients who have taken their G.E.D. test have passed and many of them have gone on to college, vocational school or additional training. Assistance is provided on an individual basis to better prepare the client for the G.E.D. test.
Official G.E.D. Test Examination
The Aberdeen Career Planning Center will be the site for official G.E.D. exams starting later this month. Official times and dates will be posted as they become available.
